Frequently asked questions about aesthetic treatments
Filler treatments
Is filler treatment painful?
Most fillers contain an anesthetic, and I also use numbing cream if necessary. The sensation is usually a light pressure or pinch.
How long does the result of a filler last?
On average, 6–12 months, depending on the area and the substance.
Does the filler completely break down?
Yes. I only use biodegradable, safe products that are eliminated from the body over time. FDA approval says a lot about the quality and safety of the filler. FDA approval is difficult to obtain, and only the most studied (and oldest) fillers receive that approval.
Dissolving filler
Can the filler be removed?
Yes. I use hyaluronidase, which dissolves the substance quickly and effectively if necessary.
Is the removal painful?
I numb the area before the procedure. The removal may sting momentarily, but it is usually very tolerable.
How soon can a new filler treatment be applied to the removal area?
After the removal of the filler, you must wait at least one month before a new filler treatment can be applied to the removal area.
Thread lift treatments
What are thread lifts?
PDO and COG threads are placed under the skin. They lift the tissue and stimulate collagen production. The end result is a firmer and more lifted appearance.
How long does the result of thread lifts last?
Usually 12–18 months. The effect is partly immediate and partly occurs over time through collagen synthesis.
Is the treatment painful?
The procedure is performed under anesthesia. After the procedure, you may experience temporary tightness or throbbing.
How long does recovery take?
Most people return to their daily routines immediately. Bruising or swelling is possible but temporary.
